About

About Danielson Architecture Office

DAO was founded in 2017 by Patrick Danielson. We are a small practice based in Sudbury, with an office in Ottawa, working across Ontario on industrial, commercial and residential projects.

The practice

Design credibility, construction realism.

We work at every stage with the whole project in mind, from finding the best opportunity on a property to making sure the result can be built and paid for.

DAO provides architectural services for new buildings, additions and the adaptation of existing properties. Our technical discipline comes from mass timber and existing-building work, and we carry it into repeatable systems such as Lantern Box.

DAO holds an Ontario Association of Architects Certificate of Practice, held since 2017, and our principal is also licensed in British Columbia. An associated company, Danielson Associates Office Inc., has handled research and commercialisation since 2014, including the patented Formid seat and our material research.

Where we work

Sudbury, Ottawa and across Ontario.

Our base office is at 217 Maki Avenue in Sudbury, and we also have an office in Ottawa. Most of our built work is in Greater Sudbury and Northern Ontario.

A company aircraft, a Pipistrel Virus, lets us reach sites across much of Ontario quickly. The two offices are about an hour and a half apart by air, which keeps travel time and cost down on projects far from either office.

Careers

We're always interested in hearing from good people. Send a portfolio or web link and your résumé to connect@p-dao.com. We read every application and will contact those selected for interviews.
